※您想看看未來綜合大樓的造型嗎?您想進入新堂內部一窺其究竟嗎?您知道第一期建堂工程的財務需求嗎?請別錯過三月七日英文及中文主日彌撒後的建堂進展報告!

※達拉斯教區主教Bishop Grahmann 將於五月二十九日上午十點三十分，親臨我們新堂地點，為我們舉行第一期工程的破土典禮。敬請大家期待這個值得我們驕傲與興奮的歷史性時刻。

※二月份建堂基金捐款共計$4,070.00元。感謝大家的奉獻，請大家繼續努力。

※感謝工程小組的辛勞，第一期建堂工程(綜合大樓)的初步設計(總規劃藍圖、隔間設計、及外觀設計)已獲得教區之批准。新成立的室內設計小組的成員(王靜玲、沈媛宜、莊祖琪、陳碧霞、及楊韓仙)並已開始著手研究內部之規劃(諸如:家俱、講台、廚房的陳設，教室隔音及採光的考量，地毯質料、顏色、及相關建材之選擇等等)。

※神父將於三月份開始做他退休前的告別拜訪，探望堂區的各家庭查經班、善會，及未能參與這些團體的個別家庭。神父也會藉這個機會送達每個教友家庭為第一期建堂工程的特別奉獻意向卡，以示鄭重。這個奉獻意向必需呈報主教府，做為主教批準我們開工的依據。當您接到這奉獻意向卡時，務必請您填妥後於復活節主日(4/11)的彌撒中奉獻在天主臺前。今年的募款目標必需要達到四十萬($400,000)元，才能支付興工的支出。敬請您大力祈禱並慷慨解囊，讓我們攜手共建新家園！

※建堂工程目前為止共計支出$18,083.09(含土木工程建地檢測費$10,500，市府建地申請及製圖費用$1,505,50，教區法律契約簽訂律師費用$2,410.91，地基設計及先置處理$3,600，其他雜項支出$66.68)

各組計畫及工作報導

禮儀組 席鯤珍供稿

※四旬期已於二月二十五日開始，教會要求教友在聖灰禮儀和耶穌受難兩天守大小齋，並在四旬期間每星期五守小齋，不食肉類。

※今後在彌撒中平安禮時，除了教友與神父互相以鞠躬互祝平安外，教友與教友之間也以此互祝平安。

※祝聖聖油彌撒，將於四月六日在主教座堂舉行。有意參加者，請於三月十四日前與吳清源聯絡，以便申請保留座位。

※三月份每週五活動如下:

3/05, 晚上7:15拜苦路, 彌撒與明供聖體隨後。

3/12, 晚上7:15拜苦路, 彌撒與明供聖體隨後。

3/19, 晚上7:15彌撒, 7:45拜苦路〈英文〉，明供聖體隨後。

關懷組 韓開元供稿

※本月份慶生將於三月七日中午在活動大籲廳舉行，請大家一起來參與，祝福壽星們，並分享他們的喜悅以及可口的蛋糕。

※ 司徒堅定(Marvin)將接任Pro-life coordinator的工作，負責與主教府及Pro-life committee的聯絡溝通。蕭康宜仍負責主日彌撒中有關Pro-life的祈禱。Marvin同時也在組裡擔任Youth Counselor，以協助青少年認識、參與Pro-life的活動。今年Pro-life的活動計劃如下：

· 前往Pro-life Committee分派給本堂的墮胎診所前以公唸玫瑰經的方式為未出生的嬰兒祈禱。

· 收集教友捐贈的各式嬰兒用品、衣物、玩具等給White Rose Center。

· 經由青少年的募款活動，將籌得的捐款支助為Pro-life貢獻、服務的團體。

青少年陶成組 朱偉言供稿

※三月十四日為春假，宗教教育停課一次。

※自三月份開始，每個月的第一個星期五聖心彌撒後，我們為堂區的青少年安排朝拜聖體。希望家長們能帶領青少年們一起參與。三月份的朝拜活動在六日舉行。詳情請與Reuben Chen 聯絡。

※三月十九日星期五晚上堂區將為青少年安排在彌撒後以英語經文拜苦路。這是在四旬期內教育孩子們紀念救主受難的好機會。請各家長帶領孩子們踴躍參加。

※四月二日星期五晚上堂區為初領聖體的小朋友舉辦一個講座，並幫助他們首次辦告解。將於今年復活節開聖體的小朋友，請儘可能參加該講座。時間是晚上七時。

聖心中文學校 萬玉珊供稿

※三月十四日因春假，中文學校停課一次。

※這個月除了既定的教學進度外，中文學校各班還會幫孩子們準備四月十日的演講比賽，希望藉由比賽前的準備，提高學生們中文表達的能力，及台風臨場的經驗。

New Church Building Committee:

※ Have you seen the multi-purpose building’s exterior design? Are you curious about the new church building’s interior design? Do you know the current financial status of the first phase construction? Please attend the New Building Progress Report that will be presented on Sunday, March 7, after the English and the Chinese Masses by the New Building Committee.

※ At 10:30 am May 29, 2004, Most Reverend Bishop Grahmann will preside the ground-breaking ceremony for our first phase construction. Please be prepared for this exciting moment of our church!

※ The total of February building fund donation collected is $4,070.00. We appreciate everybody's generosity. Please continuously pray for the success of this project.

※ Kudos is due Construction Team's efforts on the phase one preliminary design. The first phase design has been approved by the Diocese. The design includes master site plan, floor plan, and outlook. Members of new Interior Design team (Jingling Wang, Helena Shen, Aileen Chen, Tina Young, and Han-Shen Kan) have already started to profile the interior requirements (such as furniture, stage, kitchen equipment, classroom’s sound-proof and lighting, carpet material and colors, and selections of other related building materials).

※ Before his retirement, after the first Sunday of March (March 8) Fr. Chen will visit each region’s Bible study group, laity groups, and individual families who cannot participate in these church group activities. He will also take this opportunity to deliver the Phase 1 Construction Special Pledge Card to each family to emphasize the importance of your support. The total pledged donation will be reported to the Diocese and be one of the criteria that Bishop will evaluate to grant us the permission of the construction. Please be generous and bring back the filled out pledge card during the Easter Sunday (4/11) Mass so that we can dedicate our efforts to The Lord. We must meet the $400,000 fund raising goal in order to support the construction. Let’s build our new home together! Your prayers and generosity are desperately desired.

※ Up to date, the total construction expenditures is $18,083.09. It includes civil engineering work and a survey charge of $10,500, City of Plano site approval and engineer mapping fee of $1,505.50, Diocese’s legal papers lawyer fee of $2,410.91, foundation design and pavement preparation of $3,600, and other miscellaneous expense of $66.68.

Liturgy:

※ Lent season began on February 25. Every Catholic whose age is between 18 and 59 must observe Fast and Abstinence on Ash Wednesday (February 25) and Good Friday (April 9), as well as abstinence from meat on every Friday during the Lent season.

※ Please only bow during the mass instead of shaking hands or chatting to greet each other.

※ Mass of Chrism will be held at Cathedral on Tuesday of the Holy week, April 6. In order to reserve a seat, please notify Peter Wu before March 14 if you plan to attend.

※ Upcoming events on March are as follows:

Youth Formation:

※ On March 14 there will be no CCD class because of Spring break.

※ Starting from March, we will have Eucharistic Adoration for the youth in our parish on every first Friday evening of the month. The adoration starts right after the 7:45 pm Mass. We encourage all youth in the parish and their families to attend this event. March 5 (Fri) will be the next adoration day. Details of this event please contact Reuben Chen.

※ On March 19 (Fri) evening, we arrange an English Stations of the Cross for all CCD students and their families. Time is after the 7:15 pm Mass. This is a good opportunity during Lent to remember how Jesus suffered for us. Parents please encourage and accompany your children to attend the evening Mass and the activity that day.

※ On April 2 (Fri) evening, we have arranged a special talk for children intending to receive their First Communion this Easter. After the talk, the children have opportunity to receive their first Sacrament of Reconciliation. All First Communion children must attend this event. The time is 7:00 pm.

Outreach :

※ We'll celebrate the March Birthday Stars with a birthday cake on March 7, 2004 in the church activity hall during lunch.

※ Marvin will assume the Pro-Life Coordinator position on behalf of our church. He will work with Pro-Life Committee and the Diocese. Mary Lee will continuously work with Marvin to organize the Sunday's pro-life prayers during the Mass. Marvin currently also serves as a Youth Counselor for the Outreach Team to promote pro-life activities. He plans to take the lead on the following activities:

Rosary in front of our assigned abortion clinic (spring)
Collect used clothes, cribs, strollers, etc. from parishioners and donate them to the White Rose Women Center (summer)
Youth fund-raising activity for pro-life groups (fall).

Chinese School:

※ There will be no Chinese school due to Spring Break on March 14.

※ In addition to the regular Chinese School activities, we will help students to prepare for the Spring Speech tournament in April. With encouragement from parents, we believe that through the process of preparation will enhance students’ capability of fluently speaking Chinese.
